New Ifbyphone Version Targets Advertising Firms
Ifbyphone has launched a new version of its hosted telephony platform. The platform is one of a growing array of hosted services offering sophisticated business telephony capabilities, including features such as call center and interactive voice response systems, for small to medium-size businesses. The new version is particularly convenient for users in the advertising business.
The key advertising-oriented feature goes by the name of campaign management. It lets users group various kinds of calling activities, including inbound and outbound calling, call transfers, click-to-call and voice broadcasts. Such grouping supports the generation of custom reports. Similarly, the new Campaign Guest Interface allows advertising companies to give their customers real-time feedback about specific campaigns. Previously they could only receive reports by e-mail.
Other improvements in the new version make life easier for resellers and developers. A reseller portal, for example, lets companies manage multiple customer accounts online with a single login. A new online viewer makes it easier for developers to troubleshoot integrations they have done with customers' in-house phone systems.
Click-to-call sounds like "Follow Me," which is what the provider offers with VoIP service at my internship. This option is getting bigger - there's a Sprint ad right next to this comment box offering their version (Sprint Mobile Integration?). It's not VoIP, but the option is apparently being used for everything, including non VoIP phone services, which is pretty cool.
